Some directors seem to take pride in editing the movie so that the climactic moment falls exactly on the middle second of the entire film (disregarding end credits and advertisements). While this is certainly a feature on its own, and those who master it usually have a lot more to boast about than just that, I would not put pursuing it ahead of the main goal, which is to deliver top quality; so, if this means that the exact climax must falls thirty seconds before or a minute after the exact midpoint, so be it. Not to sound facetious, but if, unlike the male orgasm, the female one can last for a variety of times, the same should be said about the climax of a work of storytelling art.
